Hanna Ilczyszyn is a Polish artist from Wroclaw who lives and works in Brussels, Belgium. She was born in 1984.
She was a graduate student at KASK in Ghent, Be, and previously studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw, Poland. She has exhibited her work in solo and group exhibitions in Asia, Europe and the United States and sold to collectors worldwide.
Her paintings depict childhood memories, dreams and focus on the relationship between people and nature.
"When I paint, I usually think of a perfect and peaceful moment - I imagine that I am alone in a field. It is just before the sun sets and the last rays of light kiss the earth. There is a certain silence at this time of day and a beautiful light. You know it's getting dark soon, but you also want this moment to last. This moment between light and darkness is similar to waking up from a vivid dream – and interests me a lot.”

Hanna Ilczyszyn works primarily in painting and drawing and has done several group projects that involved the local community and other artists. Hanna Ilczyszyn has been a full-time artist for seven years. Since the beginning of her artistic career, she has been attracted to the relationship between living beings and their environment, which in many ways is the theme of her work.
"I am interested in investigating how humanity and nature can coexist and what balance there is between them. A topic I feel is becoming more and more important because of the emergency climate change is in.”
“My work tends to be intuitive. I paint quickly. I usually think about my next work for a while, but then the execution is always quite fast. I think it allows me to follow my intuition and paint in a more expressive way. I also enjoy the small imperfections that result from such a process: my aim is to capture a feeling rather than a perfect image.”
