The horse's evolutionary line of development is well documented in paleontological terms. The natural history of the equine family Equidae began during the Eocene epoch 56 million to 33,9 million years ago with Eohippus (Dawn horse), which evolved into Mesohippus, Merychippus and Pliohippus and ended with our modern horse, Equus Caballus. Davies sculpted this portrait, whose appearance is unintentionally more like a Lipizzaner than any other breed, but its true depiction is of the species. This bronze sculpture is mounted on a black granite base.
The dimensions are 50 cm in width, 48 cm in height and 25 cm in depth.
