This impressive bar, designed by Erik Buch for Dyrlund in the 1960s, is a brilliant example of Scandinavian design from this era, combining elegance and functionality. The bar is primarily made of rosewood, a highly sought-after material known for its rich color and distinctive grain, which highlights the superior craftsmanship.
The front of the bar has a practical niche with a white laminate panel on the back. The front is fully covered in veneer and also has a long footrest made of solid wood with metal inlays. The floating top is finished in stylish black glass, which provides an easy-to-clean surface. On the serving side, the bar has a highly functional structure that includes three drawers with leather handles - two smaller drawers on the left and one deep drawer on the right. In addition, there is a pull-out laminate tray, perfect for mixing drinks, along with a sunken area for extra preparation space and a pull-out shelf for the cooler. Underneath the drawers you will find an area with sliding doors that open up to adjustable shelves for safe storage. On the right are eight bottle spaces, ideal for storing wine or spirits.
Despite the ravages of time, the bar is in excellent vintage condition with only minor signs of wear. The original black laminate on the top has been replaced with a black glass surface, giving the furniture an even more elegant look and making it easier to maintain. The pull-out drinks tray is a bit stiff, but will likely come loose with use. Please note that the bar is very heavy and requires several people to move it into place.
