This rare set of teak armchairs, model 128, was designed by renowned Danish designer Grete Jalk for France & Son, and later distributed by Cado. Cado grew rapidly in the 1960s and acquired France & Son at the end of the decade. It is very rare to find these chairs with the Cado emblem, but here it is perfectly preserved on both chairs.
The chairs are an excellent representation of the Scandinavian design movement. The frame of the chairs is made of high-quality solid teak, a material known for its warm shades, smooth grains and extreme durability. Model 128 has a minimalist and streamlined shape. The structure is characterized by the slightly curved armrests and a clean, simple frame, reflecting the functional and at the same time sophisticated aesthetics of Scandinavian design.
The solid wood legs are light and slightly sloping, giving a light and balanced feel. The chairs are equipped with square, button-stop covers that are reupholstered in luxurious full-aniline leather. The button-stops create extra comfort and softness, and the upholstery fits snugly into the wooden frame. Despite the chair's minimalist design, ergonomics have been taken into account, providing both support and relaxation. The angled backrest and slightly inclined seating position make it ideal for relaxation.
The frames of both chairs are perfectly preserved. The wood has been treated with professional oils, which highlight its natural beauty. The new leather upholstery has given the chairs a fresh look and restored their former elegance.
