The HOKORE pendant is in many ways a work of art. The play of light and shadow will add a sculptural feel to any setting.
Hokore means proud in Japanese, and the inspiration for the lamp is the strength of a flower bud growing in full bloom. Using the traditional art of takeensuji, a technique traditionally used to make insect cages and paper lanterns, the lamp builds on tradition while adding a modern look and use.
The lamp is carefully handcrafted in Japan by artist Tani Toshiyuki using nearly 1.000 bamboo strips.
Material
The pendant is made of bamboo and will eventually acquire the traditional, sought-after amber colour. When used in a room with high ventilation or with lots of sunlight, the amber color will appear faster. White textile cord, length 3 m and light source is an incandescent lamp E27 60W or equivalent LED.
Please note that colors displayed on the screen may differ somewhat from the colors of the actual object, so we cannot guarantee a color match. The natural material used can also vary in appearance from object to object.
Maintenance
The pendant can be cleaned of dust with a dry soft cloth or a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush.
That's what the designer says
"The motif of this work is a celebration of the strength of the flower bud growing into full bloom."
