This impressive set of chairs was designed by Ico and Luisa Parisi, two prominent figures in Italian design in the mid-20th century. The chairs were made for MIM (Mobili Italiani Moderni) in the 1950s and are crafted from luxurious dark rosewood. Their minimalist frame reflects the essence of the period design style, where even simplicity has a sophisticated expression.
The chairs feature uniquely shaped hexagonal prismatic legs and geometrically faceted frame ends, giving the design an extra visual interest. The ergonomically curved backrests are designed to provide better support and comfort, emphasizing Parisis' focus on both function and aesthetics. The chairs are newly upholstered in vibrant cobalt blue leather, which not only enhances comfort but also creates a beautiful contrast to the deep, natural color of the rosewood. The combination of the dark wood and the bold blue leather is a perfect example of Parisis' ability to unite simplicity and elegance.
The set is in very good original condition, with only very minor signs of use, which attest to the age and origin of the chairs. The new upholstery was necessary to restore the chairs to their original beauty and functionality. The wooden frames have been cleaned and protected with professional means.
This set of chairs is a beautiful and thoughtful design, originating from the collaboration between MIM and the Parisi couple, and is now sought after by collectors and design enthusiasts. We offer the set with six chairs and an extra chair that can be used in other rooms. We also have a rosewood dining table from the same home and offer it as a complete unit.
