Marcus Kingma – Brutalist coffee table, 1994

Brutalist coffee table designed and handmade by Marcus Kingma in 1994. Kingma, who is the son of sculptor Paul Kingma, grew up creating these tables and later developed his own style, aimed at the German market, which makes his designs rarer in the Netherlands. The table has a round tabletop, consisting of a playful composition of natural stone in different colors, bronze and concrete, artfully inlaid in a mosaic-like pattern. This gives the table a sharply defined brutalist touch with a sculptural appearance.

The table is signed "M. Kingma 94" and is in very good condition. An original new transparent protective layer has been applied, which keeps the surface well protected and preserves the colors. In addition, the steel legs have been powder coated black, which gives a nice finish.
