Product description

Rare rear-leg-free tube chair model 2154 designed by the Dutch modernist Paul Schuitema for Fana Metaal in 1935. The chair has a characteristic floating expression and an active, upright sitting position - a functionalist and uncompromising design from early European modernism.

Made of chrome-plated steel tubing with a curved back and wooden armrests. The seat has internal suspension and is newly upholstered in two-tone green leather, which provides a striking contrast and graphic effect. Equipped with new floor protectors. A documented design icon, referenced in 2100 Metal Tubular Chairs by Otakar Macel (p. 147).

A museum-quality and sustainable collector's item with a clear Bauhaus connection and great design historical value.

Bought a used Wegner armchair, which was delivered directly from a dealer. So it seems that Splish collaborates with different dealers who are then responsible for the delivery. Therefore it feels a bit like I could have just as well ordered directly from the dealer, but at the same time it is quite nice that you can compare products across dealers on the website. The quality was as described and the delivery was problem-free, however the delivery took 9 days, while the website said 3-7 days. All in all, very satisfied.
