The SEN pendant is a truly unique light sculpture that will add a play of light and shadow in any setting. Also available as a table lamp.
Sen means lines in Japanese and the many bamboo strips steam bent into shape create lines as well as shadows. The lamps' craftsmanship is based on the traditional art of takeensuji, a technique traditionally used to make insect cages and paper lanterns, while adding a modern look and use.
The pendant is carefully handcrafted in Japan by artist Tani Toshiyuki using approximately 600 bamboo strips.
Material
The lamps are made of bamboo and will eventually acquire the traditional, sought-after amber colour. When used in a room with high ventilation or with lots of sunlight, the amber color will appear faster. White textile cord, length 3 m for pendant and 1 m for table lamp. The light source is a light bulb E14 60W or equivalent LED.
Please note that the colors shown in the images may in some cases differ from the colors of the actual object, so we cannot guarantee a color match. The natural material used can also vary in appearance from object to object.
Maintenance
The pendant can be cleaned of dust with a dry soft cloth or a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush.
That's what the designer says
"The motif of this work is a celebration of the strength of the flower bud growing into full bloom."
- Tani Toshiyuki
