Vahid Sharifian (b. 1982) is an artist from Iran who now lives in Los Angeles. He is known for his highly sexual and provocative works that mix ZEN, porn and melancholy. Sharifian's art has been shown at international exhibition venues such as Paris, New York, London and the Venice Biennale. His works reflect on the paradoxes he experienced in his homeland, where religion and brutality are in constant conflict. In his latest series, Sharifian works to find inner peace in a troubled world, inspired by both Japanese art and his family's artistic heritage.
